High throughput screening of large numbers of chemicals, genes or cultivars is the best option to understand modes of actions and the variability of biological responses to such external factors as pests or growth conditions. LemnaTec scanalyzer systems extract such multi-parameter results very efficiently

High Throughput Screening (HTS) for Pesticide Development

High throughput screening in the development of plant protecting agents is used to characterise the dramatically increasing number of tested chemical substances in order to identify new lead substances for pesticides. While earlier tests were performed in petri dishes and assessed individually by human experts, the need to screen chemical libraries with hundreds of thousands of plants has made it imperative to automate all steps in the screening process.

High throughput screening using LemnaTec scanalyzerHTS technology

High Throughput Screening - The LemnaTec scanalyzerHTS makes it possible to perform highly reproducible quantitative assessments of small animals such as water fleas, mosquito larvae, nematodes or aphids in 6 to 96 multiwell plates for more than 100 plates per day. In cases where plates can be stacked or are to be placed on different positions with alternative imaging options, the scanalyzerHTS will be delivered with an integrated plate-handling robot that has a capacity of up to 140 multiwell plates. Up to four different cameras are able to deliver a large set of quantitative, multi-parameter data for each individual test sample. The general approach to assess multiple parameters per sample, a standard in pesticide screening, is called high-content screening in the field of pharmaceutical research.
