LabScanalyzer

Affordable Phenotyping for any laboratory

The LemnaTec LabScanalyzer is a versatile instrument for a broad range of phenotyping applications in laboratories. It allows imaging of many different types of biological samples including plants as well as samples in plates:

  • Seedlings and small plants in pots or small trays
  • samples in microtiter plates or petri-dishes, e.g. seeds, leaf disks, insects
  • samples in beakers, e.g. duckweed for ecotoxicology testing
  • detached plant parts, e.g. leaves, fruits, roots, tubers

LabScanalyzers consist of cabinets containing high-resolution RGB cameras together with the corresponding illumination. Depending on the configuration, cameras can be mounted in top- and/or side-view position and lights are available as direct- or back-light panels.

The unique touch-control software facilitates easy handling of experiments and analyses. The software comprises purpose-specific workflows, e.g. seedling growth analysis or duckweed testing, that enable data acquisition and analysis with a few clicks on the user interface. Customised workflows are available on request and can be established interactively.

The workflows of the analytical software provide rapid access to the parameters that are quantitative measures of the phenotypic properties of the samples. Reports are generated as PDF output and as CSV files that enable importing the data in all standard statistical software.

LabScanalyzer Brochure

LabScanalyzers are available as top-view, side view or as top-and-side view cabinets. A special light-tight cabinet is available for luminescence tests.

  • Top-view camera
  • Direct or bottom light
  • On-board analytics
  • 600 mm x 600 mm footprint; 1129 mm height, 60 kg weight (low cabinet, bench top placing)
    • for samples of max. 20 cm height
  • 600 mm x 600 mm footprint; 1750 mm height, 100 kg weight (tall cabinet)
    • suitable for taller samples (space for up to 100 cm); top-view field of view and depth of focus will not cover the full height of the space. Details available on request.

  • Side-view camera, optional top-view camera
  • Plant dimensions: max. 300 mm height and 300 mm diameter
  • On-board analytics

High-sensitivity camera for recording luminescence emission

The Growscreen Rhizo LabScanalyzer brings advanced root phenotyping to the lab. The system allows imaging of soil-filled rhizoboxes, that are placed onto a rhizobox holder in the imaging cabinet. Cameras record images from the roots and shoots of the plants.

  • Roots in soil – no artificial media required
  • Soil-filled rhizoboxes at 45° angle
  • Non-destructive – access to roots without digging or washing
  • Time-course studies
  • Root- and Shoot data for each plant
  • High-resolution root imaging
  • High-resolution shoot imaging
  • Advanced analytical software, machine learning algorithms available
